PHP is getting a hell of a lot more use these days. This reflects the importance of it for a company like IBM.

What it does signify is the growing issues over intellectual property and patents within the IT industry, and it raises some important questions around what it is right to patent.

I think this shows that Tod Nielsen has come into the camp, looked around and decided to shake up the company and put it in a position where it can make its mark.
