"Arthur Henry "Art" Howe, Jr." (born December 15, 1946) is a former Major League Baseball infielder, Coach (baseball)/coach, Scout (sports)/scout and Manager (baseball)/manager. He managed the Houston Astros (1989–1993), Oakland Athletics (1996–2002), and New York Mets (2003–2004), compiling a career record of 1,129 wins against 1,137 defeats (.498).
