It's going to be very important to the future economy of the coast.

We will get behind the Governor's Commission on Recovery and Redevelopment and break it down by various areas. At the end of the day, it's the business sector that will drive the recovery of the Coast. They will do it with their investment dollars and with their leadership.

Katrina is a catalyst for these discussions because of CSX's commitment to helping the Coast recover and because of the obvious need to resolve this question in the near-term. We're talking about another east-west thoroughfare for traffic. We've got to know whether that's viable in the near-term; we can't wait years.

Housing, employment and child care are our three biggest issues. When leaders lead, we will find solutions to these and our other needs.
