You have really, really good schools. But when you're really good, it's hard to become great.

You cannot change a school until the community and faculty are ready to change. The teachers in the country's highest 25 performing schools are not working harder than the teachers in Wyoming. They are just doing it differently.

We've got to do things differently if we're going to reform our schools. You've got to stretch kids. State tests were never designed to be the end line. They've got to keep being reformed. In the quest to raise standards, you may have lowered them for other students.

Focus on your student's future, not your own past. Don't use this money to make the old system more expensive.
