They did the little things to win. It is a learning experience for us, watching a team like that.

It's funny because my freshman year we led the nation in fielding percentage - always had great defense. This year I've seen signs of awesome defense, but it's not consistent. Our team defense isn't up to par yet and I think it has cost us some games.

Evans and Aurora pitched their butts off and we can't play defense or score runs to help them. So, we don't deserve to beat a good team like this. It's still not good enough to come out here and get embarrassed. This is not what I want to be out here to do.

Nichols threw well enough to win today. He gave up a lot of cheap hits, but we didn't play defense behind him at all.
