The guys just tell us to get in front of the line and we lead the team out on the ice. We always did it when I was littler. The coach was like, 'Get up here, you are the first on the ice.' I don't know where it originated, probably a long time ago it happened . . . Maybe it shows that they're behind us. They just wait for us and always make sure we're the first ones to go out there.

It was a team thing, we wanted to come together, and hair was another way of doing that. We had a couple of houses where we could get it done for free, so we went for it.

The guys sometimes put up five or six goals a game, which takes a little pressure off us. We still like to give up one goal or two or zero, but getting a little extra cushion there helps out a lot.
