To look at positives, we have a record of 4-0 in the conference. We're 9-4 overall and we have another big tournament at Salem coming up.

I thought we had a great defensive effort. The kids kept their poise whenever they were being very deliberate with the basketball. They stayed very composed.

That No. 4 the coach's son was tough. Dane did a good job on him. Ross had a good game, and Andrew did, too.

They capitalized on every mistake. Every time we made a turnover, they scored on it. I think the key to the game was their offensive rebounding. Every time we did a good job defensively and looked like we were going to get a stop, they got an offensive rebound and put it back in.

If he doesn't play the way he does, we're not even in that situation. He had a great game. That free throw didn't win or lose the ball game. There were plays throughout the game ... where it's a turnover or we don't block out, it's a mental mistake. You can't just boil it right down to the end.

We just need to get a win, any win. We have nine games left to play. Like I told the kids, the Urbana game is important for us to get a better regional seed.

They play great defense and it's tough. They're big, and they're quick. That's the combination that's tough to deal with.

I think they already had our attention. Effingham is always a tough game. They're 13-10. We haven't lost to a team with a losing record this year. We haven't lost to a bad team, and Effingham certainly isn't a bad team.

They hit tough shot after tough shot after tough shot. We had guys guarding them. We switched different guys on them, but they were just right there on. It wasn't as if the shots were uncontested.
