"Tony Franks" (born 1940) is an England/English ceramic artist. He was born in Birmingham, and studied ceramics at University of Wolverhampton/Wolverhampton College of Art from 1962 until 1966. He was previously Head of Ceramics, and is now an Emeritus Professor and Research Fellow at Edinburgh College of Art. Until 2007 he was the President of the International Academy of Ceramics. In 2008, he is one of the British artists invited to create work on site for the British pavilion at the FLICAM International Ceramic Art Museum, Shaanxi province, China.

Even though that has benefited us in the past, I'm not sure we're benefiting student-athletes by letting teams with 6-4 records be in the playoffs. There has to be some value placed on winning a league championship. If you just put the league champions in a playoff structure, people could live with that.

There has to be some recognition that we're dealing with student-athletes. There comes a point where you have to say enough is enough.
