We lost four great seniors and our No. 1 singles player from last year. We're basically trying to rebuild our team.
We got stronger each period. In the third, we came out and played our A-game. We have to keep playing the rest of the season the way we played in the third.
We were happy with the way we played in the first two rounds. However, we would have liked to have a little bit better showing against Wayzata, I think that was a doable match.
It would have been nice to win this one, but Hastings had a nice team. There were no easy points out there. We fought hard for every point, but we just couldn't squeak out another three-setter. We were two pretty even teams.
We have really played them tough in the past. We really need to just take care of the puck and stay out of the penalty box.
We've shut her down the last two or three years.
It will be tough for the girls to swallow it now, but when they look back, they will see all the great things they accomplished.
She was the difference. When you outshoot a team 2-1, and get nearly 40 on net, you would expect some to go in.
This is really something special. This team has so many positives and has really developed over the years into a mean bunch of girls that do not back down.
