The last few years we bit off more than we could chew. We've had a buzz saw of a schedule. Playing three or four big teams takes a toll on a team. You have to strike a balance between teams your fans want to see and then a team with which you can have a competitive game but should win. We need to build.

He just has a wealth of knowledge that no one else on the staff has. I don't think we're as strong without him. He would have been difficult to replace. I'm just grateful we didn't have to do that.

Looking at our schedule the last couple of years, I thought we had over scheduled. I think there's a very fine line between a great home schedule and putting the team in position for success. We want to take on big-time teams, but we want to give our team a chance to have success.
