They (Spectrum) were in a 2-3 zone and we couldn't make an open jumper. We just couldn't make shots.

We just couldn't make a shot. Not in the first half. We were wide open, we had good looks. We ran good offence and did smart things. We just couldn't put the ball in the basket. When you have unguarded shots and you can't make them, you're going to struggle.

We controlled the glass, which was really positive. At least we've got a new problem. This time we rebounded the basketball but we just couldn't make a shot.

We've been competitive. Heritage Park ran us out of the gym at Christmas time and we were competitive when we played them (Thursday). Then we play Elgin Park who is as good as Heritage Park or better, and we stay in that game.

Defensively we were very good and we did exactly what we wanted to do.

Ultimately, what did us in was we turned over the ball too much and we didn't rebound it enough.

I told the girls it is a good start, but it's a start and that's all it is. Now we know what we have to do. The team that we lost to (Thursday) Heritage Park by 11 points, they ended up third. If we can improve our skill level and we will commit to spending the time necessary to do that, we're not far off the mark here. We're just not skilled enough yet.

When we try and take shortcuts that's when we get outscored. I'd be profoundly disappointed if we (took shortcuts) again. I can't foresee that happening.

We have to come out and deal with these issues so we can get better . . . that's what it's all about.
