Tom Curle
FameRank: 4

"Tom Curle" is a former England/English professional footballer. He made appearances in The Football League for Mansfield Town F.C./Mansfield Town and Chester City F.C./Chester City, where his father Keith Curle had spells as manager.

Curle made his professional debut as a late substitute in Mansfield’s 1–0 home defeat to Yeovil Town F.C./Yeovil Town on 20 September 2003. This was to be his only league appearance for the Stags, but he did feature in two Football League Trophy/LDV Vans Trophy matches the following season. The same season saw him have a spell on trial with Chelsea F.C./Chelsea, at a time when his father was suspended from the manager’s job at Mansfield.

Unfortunately the trial did not lead to a permanent contract and Curle played for Bradford Park Avenue A.F.C./Bradford Park Avenue until he followed Keith Curle/Keith to Chester City F.C./Chester in time for the 2005-06 in English football/2005-06 season.{{cite web/url= http://www.chester-city.co.uk/players_transfers_0506.asp

He's getting to the rim, but he's still having trouble elevating, which is frustrating for him.

We've got film on them, and they like to pound the ball. They push the ball and shoot a lot of threes. They're going to score some points. We've got to get back in transition and we're going to have to know where (David) Sontag is. They've got real good inside-outside threats and any team that can present that can be a problem.

We had some open looks, but it's difficult to win anytime you shoot 30-percent from the floor.

We were pleasantly surprised. We did a fitness test coming back, and we didn't lose anything physically. And you're always worried about a setback in terms of remembering sets, but they've looked good.

We won the game without Travis on the floor which is a good indication that the team can come together when someone goes down.

The morale of the team is very good. They know what's ahead of them and they're pretty confident. We've had some tough stretches this season, but the sign of a good team is what you learn from those stretches.

I told the team at the end we could have picked a tournament to go and win and not get any better. But in the long run, it'll make us a stronger team for it. We proved that we could play with these teams for a long time. These games will help.

With three days, you practice more what you're going to do than look at the other teams. We'll give them a little bit of a scouting report in the hotel room, but that'll be about it.

You shoot 58-percent, you're going to win some games.
