The girls played hard today against a good team. We just had some little mental mistakes. I think there was a little intimidation factor too. They are the number one team in the state and a very disciplined team.

It's always disappointing when you lose the first game. I was more satisfied that we were able to regroup and come together for the last two games.

You're never glad to lose, but I'm glad it happened when it did. It was a reality check for us. It just proves you can't overlook anyone.

We started out real flat. Once we got that first period out of the way, we started playing a little better.

Tara had an outstanding game for us and made a lot of nice saves. She's been pretty solid for us in net.

Overtime was almost exactly like the end of the third period. We got the puck down in their end and called a timeout. We debated on whether or not to pull the goalie again. We decided to stay the way we were and Abby made an outstanding shot from the corner with 15.1 seconds left to give us the win.

To have five players nominated in the top 20 for All-State, that's a very positive thing for the Cougars.

Tara had a good game. We always tell her that her job is to stop the initial shot first, and she did that today..

We played hard for the first period but the second period, we let them get up on us.
