"Steve Ogden"

Frankly, I just don't see the savings. If it turns out that those costs are not being realized, the price we're paying is not worth it, and we need to stop.

As Canadians, we don't usually pat ourselves on the back, blow our horn. And veterans are the same, they're very humble, very low-key. But when you hear the stories, sometimes the hair on the back of your neck stands up, because it's so amazing some of the things that they've done, the courage that they've shown.

One of the issues that the Legislature needs to look at — now that we've had serious outbreaks of fires — is whether or not in hindsight we should have funded that.

The problem is getting buy-in of a comprehensive plan. Because at the end of the day, it's going to get pretty political about where we're going to invest money for higher education. It's something I would readily admit we ought to do and haven't.
