"Shaun Xavier Bridgmohan" is a jockey in American Thoroughbred horse race/Thoroughbred horse racing.

At age thirteen, Bridgmohan's family emigrated to the United States, settling in South Florida metropolitan area/South Florida where he developed an interest in horse racing. Before becoming a jockey, and while still in school, he worked at a Florida racetrack as a hot walker, groom, and as an exercise rider. After graduating from high school he pursued a riding career and in August 1997 earned his first win at Calder Race Course. Six months later on February 15, 1998 he won six races on a single card at Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, New York, finishing 1998, which was his breakout year, as the winner of the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Apprentice Jockey. On December 22, 2007 he again won six races on a single card, this time at Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans, Louisiana.

I was very surprised in the way he won last time out, because when I rode him he came from way back. … He showed another dimension.

The trip worked out great. Once he got covered up, he relaxed really nice. Going into the second turn, he drug me up to where I wanted to be. I got after him about the eighth pole, and he must have heard horses coming up on him after that, because he found another gear.

Midway down the backside I nudged him a little and thought I'd give him a little encouragement and he picked it up pretty good. It was just a matter if I could have found any room for him because he had a little momentum and I didn't want to get him stopped.
