That was a really special day. It was a chance for me to go back to my college and get a big honor, and it happened on my birthday.

I was happy to see that. I was ready to hit. There were a lot of fans out to see me and it was nice to get a start. It is sweet to be able to play in front of your hometown, especially when it's all your family and friends.

Our team's going to be mainly concentrating on running the bases well and situational hitting. I was just trying to get myself ready to hit and it went out so I was happy with that. It was actually one of the coolest things I've ever done on the field. I grew up coming to this park so it was kind of like a fairy tale.
