There was no contract. It's very common not to have a piece of paper. It's not imprudent, though. We had a deal. Our deal was first, and it was legal and binding.

I've been in the business 25 years and I have never signed a piece of paper in a room that night with anyone. Our business is a business of trust. What these guys did is indicative of someone who is a neophyte...We own the movie but Fox decided to ignore that.

I told Fox Searchlight that we own the movie and expect to release it.

In 25 years I've never had a signed deal memo.

We own the film, ... We had negotiated all the material deal points with the agent and the producers in a hotel and spent four and a half hours on the phone so we have a deal.

We bought the movie; we own it. We look forward to working with Jason Reitman because he is extraordinarily talented.

We made a deal yesterday and we are very happy that we own the movie, ... We're delighted that we own the movie and we are looking forward to working with Jason Reitman, he is a talented young filmmaker.

At least this time I lost it legitimately.

I can only think that because of his naïveté and inexperience that he would do this.
