"Russell Stuart Davis" is a former Major League Baseball third baseman who played for the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, and San Francisco Giants from 1994 to 2001. A highly touted prospect in the Yankee organization, he was packaged along with Sterling Hitchcock in a December 1995 trade for Tino Martinez. Davis's best years in the majors came during his playing days with the Mariners when he hit 20 or more home runs three years in a row from 1997 to 1999.

On July 17, 1999, Davis hit the first ever home run at Safeco Field.

There's been a lot of pressure on us this year, so that's certainly been a different situation. And (today) we're going to face an opponent that's gotten hot at the right time. That's always scary.

I'm happy to be back. I want the program to be a good experience for everyone, that's the main thing I want the players to take out of it. I want to have the parents involved.

That was nice. We had a couple of chances early but we weren't able to get it. But we never backed off, and we did the things that we're capable of doing.

We're coming around, if we can just get the bats going. This was a good game for us to play. Once we got through the first, we settled down. We played some good small-ball, and great defensively.
