River running opportunities will be outstanding this year. However, river runners should use caution. Water levels could be very high during the peak flow period and also carry debris from recent forest fires.

It looks like water supplies will be adequate for farmers and irrigators. It will be better than last year.

That shows just how big those storms were, and how dry February was.

Other years we've been playing catch up at this time. Right now we're almost two months ahead.

We had good response to rain; that means the soils are saturated and primed.

In 1984, we had snow down to the reservoirs in Oakley and Salmon Falls. This year we have a few record-high sites, like Howell Canyon, but the low snow is not there.
