He works well with the coaches and players and resolves issues on the field. He does it in a professional way and doesn't bring fanfare to himself. Those are important qualities for officials.

The umpires in the Catawba District do a nice job. There are some very good umpires in that district and that award could have gone to several people, but Paul was the choice.
