You have a center city surrounded by less dense communities. That's the place people go for employment, for major shopping. That's very likely going to continue.

Part of reason we delayed having this meeting for three years is that the city went through a learning process on traffic calming issues.

The whole range of people that you would logically want involved in any development project are at the table on this, because both the city and Main Street Concord feel so strongly about this important issue.

That was probably the big learning curve for the city of Concord on traffic calming.

The broad objective is to create a more vibrant downtown.

The way I manage this department is to be fair and equitable to all of our customer base.

They're either all in or all out.

By making access through the downtown area easier for local traffic, it will hopefully limit the need to excessively widen the interstate when that point comes.
