"Rod Butler" is a former Australian rules footballer who played in Tasmania between 1971 and 1985. He was inducted into the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame in 2012.

Butler played for Latrobe Football Club/Latrobe in the North West Football Union (NWFU).

We did good. Matt (Mitchell) had a little trouble today, but the other guys stepped up and improved today. The score stayed within three shots of (Wednesday). One guy struggled, but the other guys came through. It turned out to be just as good.
