If this job growth is due to new demand forecasts in these industries, then we should not see a quick reversal.
It does not surprise me that we are seeing those job losses. Certainly what happened in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and with gas prices increasing last summer, we should be revising the figures downward a little bit.
It's rare you'll find human beings willing to take less money and derive less benefit from the sale of a business for community reasons, rather than maximize what they could do individually.
