I thought there was a lot of speed ahead of me, ... I was sitting back and then I called on her and she responded. They were nice fillies, but she got by them pretty easily. She had to step up today and she did.

I sat right off the leader and was in a good spot to get by her in the stretch, which my [mare] did just briefly. But right at the wire, she came back and nipped us. It was a great race for both of them.

Obviously we made some mistakes in the guild with leadership. But I'm sure we'll get together as a whole -- as one -- and make some decisions in the future.

My filly ran her eyeballs out, ... This was a tough beat. I don't think I could have gotten any closer of a finish than that. It was a great horse race.

I got a good position coming out of the first turn and was thinking if someone will just put some pressure on the favorite, I'm in a real good spot. When [Chippewa Trail] went up to challenge Rockport and I had no one behind me to worry about, it was just a question of getting clear in the lane and he kicked in the big late move I expected.

I had a fortunate trip and was able to save ground. I got through on the inside and kicked on.

She ran to expectations today. I know it was a tall order (to run against older horses) but she proved best. We anticipated a fast pace.
