It's a good feeling to be champions, and I'm glad our players have the opportunity to experience it. The team responded very well to the changes this year, and they have earned this opportunity.

It was kind of tough for us with their size, strength and quickness around the basket. Give Texas credit for applying the pressure.

It is very satisfying considering that we came in here in our first year and resurrected a great program with tradition that hadn't done well in the past few years.

This team has played with a great amount of poise all year. We've been down a couple of times this season and come back. So, it's something I knew we could do. That wasn't easy, playing here in a hostile environment.

I thought our defense was outstanding. We didn't shoot particularly well, but we played defense and rebounded extremely well. When you do those two things effectively, you'll usually have a chance to win.

One of our concentrations was to defend outside shots.

We could've easily panicked but we didn't. That shows the character of a championship team. Our guys withstood the best they could come after us with.

I thought Southern had always had the best talent in our league. For some reason, it wasn't all put together.

How much it affected us, I really can't say, because we did not play many home games in that stretch, anyway.
