If you are talking about downtown, regular people won't be able to live there. For a city that already imports half its workforce, that's a problem. What we have is a growing affordability gap.
We've learned that change will not be easy, and doing nothing will not work.
Scottsdale as a city is no longer an island, and we have to address some of these transportation concerns.
I assume we'll start getting checks by Monday.
The quality of life for our citizens and the quality of life for our businesses is entwined.
This is not a change that is going to come easy for Scottsdale. But doing nothing is not an option.
Philosophically, what you don't ever want government to do is to put legally operating businesses out of business. That's not the proper role of government.
There are reasons that businesses move here, to a place where there are higher-priced buildings and higher-priced land. And that's because of the quality of life.
