We've been having this tournament a few years, and we've gotten a lot of good feedback from it. The main thing about it we try to bring in some pretty good teams to play each other and see teams they would not normally see during the regular season.

We are a team that is still trying to find its identity. We are trying to find the right people to put in the right places with the right combination of people that will help us the most, but we are starting to figure that out I believe.

We played better in the afternoon game. We scored all six in the first two innings, and we didn't have many base-runners after that so we will work on that.

There will be competition at all positions. No starters are set in stone.

We are confident in the ability of all these guys, and we think they will give us some good innings throughout the season.

Coach Powell came to help me in 1998 when he retired from teaching. He has been a great help to me ever since, and this baseball program as well as this community are very blessed to have him here to help guide these young men when they are in high school.

Curtis Young is one of those guys who can literally play every position on the field. We are going to put him where we need him most.

This is the first year in a while we go into the season without a definite centerfielder whom we knew could contribute immediately. We are looking for someone to step up and prove they can be the one to play that position.

We just did not play the way a varsity baseball program needs to. No one was into the game, and it was a total team effort because everyone was out there almost like they were sleeping.
