"Richard Bowen" was an officer of the Royal Navy who served during the American War of Independence and the French Revolutionary Wars. Bowen saw service with Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson/Horatio Nelson, and was killed fighting alongside him at the Battle of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (1797)/Battle of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
