Unfortunately it looks like we have had human intervention but whether that's accidental or deliberate remains to be seen.

The southerly is going to cause us a lot of problems in the next few hours ... we are expecting some very erratic weather conditions and it is actually going to make the firefighters' job even harder.

We are expecting more homes to be impacted.

Unfortunately the winds look like they are picking up at this stage and we are expecting them to increase.

We have got some really hot weather but we're not getting the wind that we expected and that we got yesterday.

We're looking at the possibility of having a statewide total fire ban tomorrow and Sunday purely because of the hot weather.

It's going to be too hot, too windy and dry, and at the moment our firefighters are still out there working on fires across the state, and they don't need to be looking after any new fires that are started by fireworks.

Three hundred firefighters are out at the moment and 2000 are on standby for immediate deployment. New South Wales crews are on standby to support others states if needed.
