It's unfortunate we've had so many kids struggling at the plate at the same time.

Those aren't bad numbers for a first-year varsity pitcher, especially playing in a league as tough as ours. She should have a better record. We should have a better record. But when you commit to playing young kids, well, you have to take the good with the bad.

We've got some hitters to replace, no question.

She probably doesn't even realize it yet, but this is an educational year for her. She's learning the ropes, learning that she can pitch with anybody out there.

We're looking kind of young. The good thing is we're putting a nice nucleus together for coming years. We've got some nice talent down at the younger levels, too.
