I think there are a number of training and policy issues that need to be addressed by this administration.

The public is now to the point of disgust and outrage that they want the city to take the same steps that they're taking to insure the tourists are safe and apply that to the public at large.

There's a credibility issue that is manifesting itself in New Orleans. Part of that is the disconnect the public feels with the police department. The reputation of corruption lingers, and the new problems compound it.

To learn that the city has exported 7,000 guns seized from street criminals to other parts of the country is really mind-boggling and the height of hypocrisy.

I think that such a search is what should happen but I don't believe it will.

We're 10 years removed from being the most notorious police department in the United States. So people will assume this is just a continuation of that. But I don't think it is.

I think Riley is the guy.

It's important for this administration to not just address the appropriateness of the shooting but to look to other policy or training that would have prevented them from getting to this point.

People will continue to have a negative opinion of police in this city. That goes back to some of the sins the department has been guilty of over the past 10 to 15 years.
