I think he went in wanting to win the race and break the record and he obviously accomplished that. He was comfortable, the kid for Haverhill ran with him most of the way but he broke him the last 200 yards.

(It's) always (disappointing to lose to the Prep). They're a good team. We knew that going into it we would have (needed) a maximum effort from all our kids to win. They just have a little bit more depth than we do.

That was a tribute to Dan Higgins. He had gotten us a big fourth place a half an hour before in the 2-mile. It was pretty remarkable.
