Individual residents, if they're doing their own work, if their home is still standing, they probably need to get an asbestos inspector in to take a look and make sure that they're not doing anything that's going to be dangerous to their personal health or safety.

We have reports of people in rivers, streams, bayous and the Gulf, and we encourage everyone to stay out of any bodies of water. The danger to your health and especially to children is enormous. We also urge people to not fish or engage in recreational activities in these waters.

There is just so much stuff out there until we can get out and begin doing some assessments and getting water-quality samples, we are encouraging people to stay off the water.
