When the school was first created, it was with the idea that we would provide the opportunity for New Mexicans to obtain a medical education and at same time address the concern of medically underserved areas within the state.

Billy Sparks is a great addition to our team. He brings experiences that will benefit the Health Sciences Center at a time when our mission is growing and we are implementing the recommendations that came out of our recent Health Care Summit.
