"Paul Christopher Gillis" is a retired Canadian ice hockey forward (ice hockey)/forward. Gillis started his National Hockey League career with the Quebec Nordiques in 1982–83 NHL season/1983. He also played for the Chicago Blackhawks and Hartford Whalers. He left the NHL after the 1992–93 NHL season/1993 season.

In the spring of 2007, Gillis was named as just the third head coach in the Jackalopes 12-year history, and his impact was immediate. With his 11 years of experience as an NHL player and 14 years experience as a coach, Gillis led the Jackalopes back to the CHL postseason after the team missed out entirely in the 2006–07 campaign.

It was far more interesting than we wanted, but we're happy we got two points. We obviously can't continue to play like that and expect to win our games, so we're going to have to learn our lesson.

We're starting to get our guys back who were hurt, which is great, although it gives us a lot of decisions to make. There's competition on defense for who's going to be in the lineup each and every night, which is good.

It showed a tremendous amount of character. We hung in there. We had a little bit of a tough second period, but not horrible, and then we were able to come back in the third. We kept fighting back and we stayed in the game. We had a pretty solid effort.

We just played smart, worked extremely hard. We did the little things we were working on, we did them well and we had success.

It has to be, because we take too many bad penalties. If we continue to do that and not learn our lesson, we're going to be in trouble. But the penalty killing definitely came up big tonight.

We played well in the first, and we didn't play well after that. Obviously, that's not good enough. We can't play 20 minutes.

At this time of year, every two points is a good win. We'll take it, and we have to try and get two more tomorrow.

It gives us quality players back there and lots of depth. For a while there, we were playing with five 'D' – for a whole month, I think – and for a while we played with four 'D' for a little bit. You need the depth as you move on.

To get back on track against Adirondack, obviously our rival, we had to come up big. I think some of our players responded and did come up big.
