Just because the title says freshmen, they don't play like freshmen. Sophomores don't play like sophomores. I expect them to produce the way I would expect seniors to produce. If I put you on the floor, I have confidence in you and I expect you to get it done.
I'd like to think she's up there looking down on these kids because they're her friends. I would say that they played for her tonight.
They're just feeding off this ride right now. So you've got to just let them go.
I'd say she redeemed herself.
We tell our guys wrestling coaches often die of heart attacks and now you can see why. Marcus Godfrey from Munising is a great wrestler. You can't give him any opportunities. That could have been a big turn in momentum.
This is what you strive for all year. Winning a regional title is great, yet it's just another step in the process. I guess you can say we've raised the bar. The kids expect a lot of themselves.
Without her, we wouldn't have won a game this year. We don't get the ball up the floor if she isn't our point guard.
If the game was in the 50s or 60s, I don't know if we could have beaten them, but we kept it low. The kids played with a lot of heart out there on defense.
