"George Francis Flaherty, Jr.", known professionally as "Pat Flaherty", was an American racecar driver who won the Indianapolis 500 in 1956 Indianapolis 500/1956.

He drove in the American Automobile Association/AAA and United States Automobile Club/USAC Championship Car series, racing in the 1950, 1953–1956, 1958-1958, and 1963 seasons with 19 starts, including the Indianapolis 500 races in 1950, 1953, 1955, 1956, and 1959. He finished in the top ten 9 times, with victories in 1955 and 1956 at Milwaukee as well as the 1956 Indianapolis 500. Born in Glendale, California, Flaherty died in Oxnard, California.

It was a big momentum thing for us, and the kids showed a lot of heart coming back from that deficit. We're going in with the attitude that we can beat any team, but we know that every team in the playoffs is good and has confidence, so we'll just play hard and see what happens.

I think you've got to try to limit their touches as much possible which is difficult with their size. You have to try to keep them off the boards and out of the paint as much as possible, which is easier said than done.
