The first game I was pleased with the way we battled back after starting slow. We were one hit away from tying it.
We have had a couple great practices lately. I just keep telling the guys to keep working and we will get better.
We didn't hit. We had a couple of situations with guys on base where we didn't get hits. We have to have those with guys in scoring position.
We're not getting the big hits and we're not executing on defense. We could have been out of both those innings today. It's a matter of making a few plays here or there.
We got a little too caught up in his off-speed stuff. He really had us guessing the whole time with his location.
We made a nice run in the first game. We kept playing hard and just came up short.
The first game was a really good win. It's always tough to win two games in this conference, and we just came out flat in the second.
We definitely lost some leadership. That was a great group of guys and they'll be hard to replace. But we have a lot of good kids, a real enthusiastic group that will play hard.
This is our chance to set the tone as to how we're going to play this season. It needs to be with determination and enthusiasm and a high level of energy.
