The job Scott has done with our baseball program has been outstanding. His ability to relate to our kids, combined with his success as a head girls' coach, makes him an ideal candidate to lead our girls' program.

We changed some kids on our kickoff return because we thought they could help. And Kevin (Fortney) is just a great athlete for the situation.

(Harding) is an excellent classroom instructor who relates very well with his students. He is organized, intense, motivated and successful.

We hurt ourselves offensively and couldn't get them off the field. That's it in a nutshell.

They put a great deal of pressure on us. They have great speed and that speed negated some of our pass routes. They started pinching down inside and took the track away we were running early. That hurt us.

There are three reasons. The school has been good to me, and we're in a bind now. I miss working with the kids in a game I still love. And, as the athletic director, it's a good move because we have nine coaching positions to fill with two teaching openings. With this, we won't have to take any teaching openings.

I was pleased with the effort but not the outcome. We moved the ball better tonight than we did in the scrimmages and I think as the season progresses will take better advantage of our strengths and improve.
