It was a very courageous effort. The season is starting to take its toll. Molly is on ice in two spots, Hamilton has been beaten up a little, and Barker has missed a couple practices. It was a very, very gutsy performance.

It seemed like we quit for a three-minute stretch. Quit might be too strong. We seemed to be stunned for three minutes. You can't afford that against Woodland.

At 5-9, that's a pretty good accomplishment. She establishes good position, jumps well, has good timing and has very good strength.

We played great defense in the first quarter. Molly, Jen and Cassie were zoning inside and played a tremendously smart game.

We had some early shooting jitters but we worked through them. We did a good job getting the ball inside to Jennifer and Molly. We need to get the ball down low to keep teams honest ---- that opens it up for everybody in the outside game.

We played smart and had great senior leadership.

I feel bad for the River kids. I love that team and those players. They're a classy team, and we have a great rivalry and tremendous respect for them. I'm sad they're not going to Tacoma, but I'm glad we still have a chance to.

Fort is very aggressive defensively. They are athletic and they beat us on the boards. Turnovers and missed shots inside were probably our undoing.

I really have no explanation, other than that Black Hills played pretty good defense. I have a lot of respect for them. They could knock off River Ridge.
