There was a lot of response in the '90s. A lot of people stepped up, and we saw kids' lives changed. We had an influence in making the community a safer place.

After 12 years in operation and five different executive directors, it's difficult to keep the vision and passion alive. It was a very difficult ministry, a very draining outreach, and the finances were always tough.
