I was pretty proud with that effort at the foul line and how we took better care of the basketball down the stretch. Our decision making was much improved, too.

I do see improvement. In my eyes, at times, we seem to be getting better. I just wish we could put together four solid quarters.

Going into the fourth quarter, I just wanted to keep up the intensity and try to keep Brewster from going on another run.

Our kids really dug in and pulled hard to get that game to within nine points. Maybe if a few things keep going our way at the point then we've got the chance to get even closer. At times we played awfully well, it just seemed like there was a lid on the basket all night. We had plenty of good looks at the basket.

For a solid two and probably 2 1/2 quarters I thought we played pretty solid basketball. I just wish that in some of these games- and tonight's a perfect example-that we wouldn't let things get so far away from us in the end. This was a much closer and way more competitive game than that final score shows.

One thing I do know. Is that what's happened since November really doesn't mean a whole lot now. Everybody's 0-0 and capable of putting a couple of good games together and contending for the regional championship.

Getting down early like that. And this late in the year, it would have been pretty easy to cave in a little bit. To our kids credit, they didn't do that. It's good to get that first conference win.
