Housing gets no money from the university. We are completely self-sustaining. Our housing never closes. We have 12-month leases. Once the students move in, there is no time that they have to leave.

There is a large advantage to having a counselor living on campus. Other counselors live nearby, but in many instances our resident counselor was available in five minutes.

The CAPS center really tries to hire college-oriented counselors that aren't just about professional therapy, but someone who can listen and understand students.
