"Mia M. Bloom" (born 1968) is the author of Dying to Kill: The Allure of Suicide Terror, a critically acclaimed study on suicide terrorism and Bombshell: Women and Terrorism [http://www.amazon.com/Bombshell-Women-Terrorism-Mia-Bloom/dp/0812243900/ref=pd_sim_sbs_b_1].

Bloom is currently a Professor of Security Studies at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Prior to this appointment in July 2013 Bloom was an associate professor of international studies at the Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pennsylvania/University Park, PA and a fellow at the International Center for the Study of Terrorism at Penn State International Center for the Study of Terrorism/ICST.

With research specialties in ethnic conflict, rape in war, and child soldiers, Bloom was a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations from 2003-2008. Bloom is known for her work on suicide terrorism, women and terrorism, children in terrorist groups, ISIS Islamic State, Boko Haram in Nigeria, radicalization of European/American Muslims, and militant women during "the Troubles" in Northern Ireland.

There is no accurate criminal profile for them. Anyone who tells you differently is trying to get on TV. And if we had a profile, the terrorists would learn about it and use it against us.

If it means that if there's another attack, we were just unlucky. If there's another attack, it means we messed up.

That they would attack again soon after 9/11 was our expectation, not their expectation. If they wanted to send a guy into Wal-Mart with an AK-47, they could have a long time ago. But usually they wait until they can do something shocking, maybe three or four simultaneous attacks. You need time to do that.
