Residents seem to understand why we need it and that it is an investment in their homes. I think people will come to help us out. I think they see what's on the line for fire, police, recreation and DPW.

But it's an example of what we have to do to save money. It will allow the city to survive over the next 20, 40 and 50 years.

All the services residents have come to enjoy the last 20 years in Hazel Park, we want to keep.
