"Matthew" ""Matt"" "Kingsley" was a football (soccer)/football player who played as Goalkeeper (association football)/goalkeeper for Darwen F.C./Darwen and Newcastle United F.C./Newcastle United. In 1900-01 in English football/1901 he became the first player to receive a call-up to the England national football team/England national team whilst at Newcastle.

In all, Kingsley made 180 appearances in six First Division seasons at St James' Park and nine appearances in the FA Cup, which included an infamous cup exit at Southampton F.C./Southampton in 1900.

Kingsley lost his place to Jimmy Lawrence midway through the 1903/04 season and moved on to West Ham United F.C./West Ham United.

Hitters have confidence and know the ball is going to be at a certain spot all the time. With an inexperienced setter, the ball is going to be three feet off the net or two feet. Juan is very consistent with his sets so our hitters know where to be and know what to expect from Juan.

He was able to do some things. He had to take a lot of the rust off. He had been very inactive because he couldn't play before that. His shoulder is fine. He's getting stronger day by day. He's getting more comfortable with his range of motion. He's looking to have a big year.

I didn't think we'd come around this quickly. The players, they have volleyball skills and court sense. That makes my job easier. Everyone started with a clean slate. I knew if we stuck with the philosophy that things would turn around eventually. The results speak for themselves. Every practice and every game we're getting better.
