"Mark Stoops" is an American college football coach and former player. He is currently the head football coach at the Kentucky Wildcats football/University of Kentucky, a position he assumed in November 2012. Stoops previously served as defensive coordinator at the Arizona Wildcats football/University of Arizona from 2004 to 2009, and Florida State Seminoles football/Florida State University from 2010 to 2012.

Fundamentally we are getting better. But there are enough bad things, too - missed tackles and guys getting out of their gaps and giving up big plays. That's something we can't do. To be a great team like we want to be, we can't give up those big plays.

You have to be big and fast and strong. That's what we have really worked hard at. We have worked on being more explosive on the field. It is not just about size and strength. We have to get that on the field and get them moving faster. That is where we are headed.

We are doing enough good things to win, and then we give up some big plays. That is something we can't do. We stress that.

We are getting better and more physical and more explosive. That's what we have talked about doing since we got here.
