Last season, Huntington and Unioto were the most competitive matches we played. To overcome one of them was a great feat, and I hope the girls come out the same against Huntington.

Zane Trace, every opportunity we gave them, they took advantage of it, ... They're a real scrappy team and they never gave up.

We still get 100 percent of what we were owed.

Like I told the girls, it's amazing at the beginning of the season that they all contributed like they did. It was a great effort, a great way to start the season.

If you want to know where kids ages 4, 5 and 6 are on a Saturday, go to Badger Field on the east side of town.

[The alternative is to do nothing and be ignored.] Once the penalties are levied, it's a silent message unless it's collected, ... So we make every effort to collect those outstanding penalties.

I thought, considering we only have two returners from last season (Kari Rodgers and Cassie Sowers), they really stepped up and didn't fold under pressure, ... That says a lot for the girls who are young and don't have much experience.

I was very happy with the girls -they kept on the attack, ... We lost the third game, and in Game 4, freshman Balee Cox served four consecutive points. That shifted the momentum, gave us back the lead and we finished it out from there.

This was a strong win. I was surprised as a few (hits) that came back over the net. (Southeastern) was working hard, but our girls are pretty excited.
