It's not too little, too late. Now we've rescued people, the next stage is emerging. People are extremely weak. They're traumatized and exhausted. We've got to support them while the water goes down.

There are no plans at this stage to stop flights coming in but the situation is very uncertain. We have several aircraft scheduled for this week to bring in food for tens of thousands of people.

It's a day of reckoning. Yesterday we saw huge amounts of aircraft coming in, so on this first day of the new phase of the emergency we have to make sure that everything is coordinated.

Next week we will start looking in earnest at how to resettle people. Giving them food aid is just the start of a much bigger part of this emergency campaign.
