In our district, it's going to be a battle. When you're playing a quality team right off the bat, it's a good opening test to the year.

We're searching for leaders right now. We had to play with a make-shift line and we lost some great seniors heading into this season.

We have a lot of things to learn. We've taped practices this year to get the guys to learn even faster. Starting four sophomores at the Class 3A level can be rough, but we'll get better from this.

(Starting a week early) has been nothing but negative to me. Quite honestly, I'd rather travel to California than do it again. We went eight straight days before getting a break in preseason practice - that adds to injury problems.

It was a possibility we could have played them in the postseason last year. It's going to be a great match-up. It might be even better if I had healthy players.

It's been a long time since we've been beaten like this. I wouldn't say we competed with Winterset tonight. Getting hammered at home like this is the disappointing thing.

We didn't have any linemen back last year, now we have three all-district kids. I'm sure I'd really like having those guys up front.

We have had a couple kids step up in the absence. Leon's been out for nine to 10 days, but as we get into district play it should add to our depth.
